Defeat doesn’t stop team Borg from dreaming
Today in Alingsås, Norwegian team Borg played against Swedish team Vikens IK.
The third day of Gothia Cup started with rain over Gothenburg, extending all the way to Alingsås. At Alströmervallen in Alingsås, Norwegian Borg played against Swedish Vikens IK in the Girls 16 category at 9 AM. Jenny Halvorsen from Borg hopes to face an English team later this week.
Gothia Cup matches are played throughout Västra Götaland, from Kungsbacka in the south to Alingsås in the northeast. On Wednesday, Norwegian Borg faced Swedish Vikens IK in the Girls 16 category at Alströmervallen in Alingsås. Luckily, it was an artificial turf field, unlike Mjörnvallen where players struggled with water puddles on the grass fields today.
Unfortunately, Jenny Halvorsen and her team, Borg, lost the match. However, this doesn’t stop her from dreaming about facing an exciting team later this week.
– I want to play against an English team; it’s fun because you don’t quite understand their style of play in the same way, Jenny said after the match.
Besides playing lots of football, Jenny and her team have other goals for the week.
– We want to have as much fun as possible, play lots of football together, and have a social exchange. I think we’ll also go to Liseberg and hopefully swim if the weather allows, she concluded.
