The Gothia Cup Opening Ceremony Special

What a night we had yesterday when Kajsa with guests took us all on a trip down memory lane to relive some truly remarkable moments from the Gothia Cup Opening Ceremony.

– Monday night during Gothia week is when everyone meets at Ullevi. An evening where we together show our love for football and each other. The opening ceremony is a starting point of a week of new impressions, friendships and team spirit, says the tournament director Lena Rönnefors.

Football is all about emotions and during the ceremony we let all emotions out into one remarkable show. The circumstances of this year made it impossible for us to meet, but we still wanted to share this night with you to remind you of the wonderful times we have shared throughout the years. 

Yesterday’s broadcast from an empty arena felt strange somehow, but we are so glad that so many of you took the time to share this night with us from the comforts of your home.

All the different acts reminded us of all the amazing moments we have created and shared with each other. Everything from a unique love story that led up to marriage, to when a Brazilian coach chose to enter the stage and sing in front of 50000 people.  

– We miss you tremendously and we can´t wait until we get to take part in the next Gothia Cup, Lena continues.
